Purpose

The Foundation Seed Stocks program is the link between the plant breeder and the certified seed grower. This program provides a plan where large quantities of genetically pure seed of desirable varieties both new and old, can be made available more efficiently and economically to growers of certified seed.

Purposes set forth in the Articles of Incorporation are:

To serve as exclusive agent for all breeder seed and other parent material distributed from the Oklahoma Agricultural Experiment Station.
To contract with individual growers for the production of Foundation Seed from Breeders Seed.
To rogue, harvest, and condition the seed stocks as to not mix or genetically alter the variety.
To sell Foundation seed to growers of Registered and Certified seed approved by the Oklahoma Crop Improvement Association and to others in accordance with approved procedures.
