Post 90
Post 90 was developed by the Oklahoma Agricultural Experiment Station as Post Barley in
1976 and re-released in 1990 under the name of Post 90. It is a composite of
105 plant selection progenies from the variety "Post".
It is a mid-season, six-row, greenbug resistant winter barley developed for the
specific purpose of combining the yield potential of Will with the straw strength of
Harrison. It is shorter than Will under most growing conditions, has excellent straw
strength, and better than average straw quality.
Post is equal or superior to Will in winter-hardiness. It is resistant to
prevalent biotypes of the greenbug and exhibits a high level of tolerance to the
barley
yellow dwarf disease.
Doyce
Doyce was developed and released by Virginia
Tech. Doyce is a high yielding, full season, long awned, six-row
winter hulless barley with good straw strength. Head emergence
of Doyce is similar to that of Wysor. Average plant height is 32
inches. Doyce is resistant to powdery mildew,
leaf rust, and barley yellow dwarf virus. It is moderately
susceptible to net blotch. As a feed grain and potential
commodity for ethanol production, Doyce hulless barley is superior to most of the readily available varieties. U.
